Everyday Poster Series for Nest Jest Association
Nest Jest Association is a fictional collective formed by a group of couples and partners, dedicated to bringing awareness, guidance and advice to the ones diving into the wild world of cohabitation for the first time. Their aim is to help them navigate the inevitable quirks of cohabitation by offering practical (and very much necessary) advice for couples to survive their first year of living together.
MANIFESTO
If you've ever argued about who gets the bigger side of the bed, the inexplicable trail of hair that turned your beautiful wooden floor into an unwanted carpet, or debated on whether the toilet seats should stay up or down, these poster series are made for you!
The first year of living together can be a comedic rollercoaster of epic proportions. From toothpaste cap debates to sock pileups, couples often find themselves in stitches or, in some cases, in need of stiches. The primary challenge for Nest Jest's poster series is to provide a lighthearted guide to navigating these pitfalls, ensuring couples don't just survive but thrive in their shared living space.
RESEARCH
Researching existing posters and drawing inspiration from images
What defines a poster series is how all the posters within the series are linked together. Design should be consistent in terms of the typeface used, color palette style and layout. Though not all are the same design in terms of placements of content and elements, you can notice the similarity in the visual hierarchy and how colors are repeated among the series.
A poster series is characterized by the interconnectedness of all posters within it. Consistency in typeface, color palette, style, and layout is essential. While each design may vary in terms of content/element placement, an evident similarity exists in the visual hierarchy and the repetition of colors throughout the series.
The idea of an “Everyday Poster” comes from the notion that no activity is considered too mundane or boring - even taking out the trash can be a major event. The idea is to promote trivial activities and give them a sense of importance that they would not normally have.
Design Strategy

Figure 1: Design Strategy for the poster series
The themed for the posters focuses on the term “Anatomy” of the poster series “Anatomy of the first year living with your partner”. The strategy for this series is to target the challenges partners faced when living together and dissecting and deconstructing these challenges to their most basic anatomy (Figure 1) to showcase their uses and/or how they should be used. By using neutral colors and textured graphics, the aim is to create a poster series with a vintage and archival feel that showcase the posters as being educational.
