TYPEFACE SPECIMEN POSTER

The goal of this project was to visually communicate the qualities of the typeface, Baskerville - recognize their unique voices, and showcase their physical characteristics in the form of a print typeface specimen.

ITERATIONS

I've developed two designs, drawing inspiration from the era in which Baskerville was created. My aim was to present a vintage aesthetic while still maintaining a modern touch, emphasizing the classic and trustworthy qualities of Baskerville, and highlighting its role as a bridge between different eras and styles.

I played with the idea of dissecting the Baskerville typeface (Figure 1 - right side), ultimately opting for my initial design (left side) as I felt it had a more balanced composition and layout. However, I decided to incorporate elements of the dissecting concept into the final design.
